Introduction

Email authentication is an optional but highly recommended process for everyone who is sending mass emails by using Sendloop or any other similar services. Sendloop provides you all features required for authenticating your emails.

Authentication Methods

There are three authentication methods:

  • SPF
  • SenderID
  • DKIM/DomainKeys

You will need to modify your “from” email address domain DNS zone and add some additional records.

Advantages

In todays world, many email services pay attention to authenticated emails. Some of them are AOL, Gmail, Yahoo! and Hotmail.

Activating Authentication

  1. Login to your Sendloop account
  2. Click “Manage Account” link on the top right menu
  3. Scroll your browser to “Email Authentication” section
  4. The DNS record that is required for SenderID/SPF authentication is provided next to SenderID part.
  5. Edit your “from” email address domain DNS record and add a new TXT record with the following value:
    v=spf1 mx ptr include:sendloop-1.com ~all
  6. To authenticate with DKIM/DomainKeys, simply enter the domain of your “from” email addresses and click the button.
  7. Sendloop will generate the required “signature” for your from email address and add the domain to your authenticated domains list.
  8. Now, click to the pencil icon next to your domain and Sendloop will display you the required TXT name and value to be added under your “from” email address domain DNS record:
  9. Create a new TXT record under your “from” email address domain DNS entry and enter the displayed TXT name and text for it.

That’s all! Once these steps are completed, your emails will be authenticated with SPF, SenderID, DKIM/DomainKeys authentication methods and you will maximize the delivery rate of your emails.
